Every verdict on ProductScout follows the same repeatable process. Here's exactly how we evaluate a product.

1. Research the claims

We start with the product's official materials: what it promises, who makes it, its ingredients or features, pricing tiers, and the terms of any guarantee. We note claims that are clear and measurable — and flag any that are vague or exaggerated.

2. Weigh the evidence

We assess the product against honest expectations for its category: quality, value for money, ease of use, customer support, and the strength of the refund policy. Where relevant, we consider publicly available customer feedback and reputational signals.

3. Score and recommend

We translate our findings into a clear 1–5 rating and a plain-English verdict, including who the product suits best and who should look elsewhere. Our scores reflect overall value, not just a single feature.
